LCHS Student Earns Gold at Art Competition

Stephanie Richerson, a Lamar Consolidated High senior, is a uniquely talented - and now state recognized - artist. This year, at the State Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) Richerson’s aboriginal artwork earned her a coveted gold medal.

Over 24,000 students competed in 25 regions across the state with only 1,195 pieces making it to the state competition. The competition included a variety of artwork including oil and water paintings, sculptures, photographs and mixed media pieces.

Registration is now being accepted for the second season of Fort Bend Gridiron Football, sponsored by the Methodist Sugar Land Hospital and Methodist Orthopedic Specialists of Texas.

Any student between the ages of 7 and 12 that lives in Fort Bend or Lamar Consolidated School districts can play in the Fort Bend Gridiron Football League.  The league was founded by former Texas A&M and Houston Oiler quarterback Bucky Richardson.  The league teaches proper football fundamentals in a positive environment. The league is affiliated with USA Football, the office youth football organization for the NFL.

Sign up soon! It is estimated that the Fort Bend Gridiron Football League will triple its membership this year.
