The spring season is finally hear, so get out and enjoy that Texas heat...from some of Sugar Land’s best chili!
Sugar Land Town Square hosts a Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, March 25, from 3 to 6 PM at the Town Square Plaza. Participants from across the city will be toiling over massive vats of their secret chili recipes in an effort to wow the judges and visitors, as well as hopefully to be crowned the best in Sugar Land.

All eyes will be toward the skies when Sugar Land hosts its third annual Cultural Kite Festival on Saturday, March 3, at Sugar Land Memorial Park from 10 AM to 3 PM.
This will be a fun opportunity for all Sugar Land residents to enjoy the simple pleasure of going out and flying a kite, as well as teaching their children how it is done. Don’t know how to fly one yourself? There will be professional kite experts on hand to give demonstrations and lessons.

Who needs a Times Square ball drop when you can have a Town Square sugar cube drop?
Celebrate New Years Eve this January 31 at Sugar Land Town Square presented by the City of Sugar Land from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am.
All Sugar Land residents and their friends and family are invited to this free one-of-a-kind spectacle.
This New Years party is divided into two separate programs so people of all ages can enjoy themselves.
From 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm is the Children’s Celebration complete with giant roaming puppets, street performers, nine-foot vines that spring to life, live music, and best of all a fireworks finale.
Beginning at 9:30 pm is the Adults’ Celebration with live bands, dancing, street performers, state of the art lighting effects, and the countdown to 2012 with a 3-D sugar cube drop at midnight. Alcohol sales for beer, wine and champagne are available for those age 21 and up with valid ID.
This will be a rockin’ party atmosphere so have a memorable New Year’s Eve without even having to leave town.

Child Advocates of Fort Bend present the 20th Annual CASA Christmas Home Tour on Friday and Saturday, December 9 and 10, at locations across the Sugarland and Fort Bend areas.
This tour will showcase some of the area’s most beautiful homes and neighborhoods lavishly decorated for the holidays. More than 2,000 residents are expected to take this year’s tours.
