Join the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as they host Walk MS: Sugar Land, Presented by KBR on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Sugar Land Memorial Park.
More than 500 Sugar Land residents are expected to join together to raise funds and awareness for MS research. Participants chose from either a one-mine or a 5K course.

Celebrating the success of Houston’s Restaurant week, Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille in Sugar Land was able to contribute $7,535 to the Houston Food Bank. Approximately 10,000 from all across Houston joined Perry’s Restaurants in compiling a record breaking donation of $48,555.
Houston Restaurant Week was established in 2003 by Cleverley Stone, who plans the event so that 100% of all donations go to the Houston Food Bank. It’s dining to make a difference. Lunches are $20 and dinners are $35. Houston Restaurant week takes place each August and news for the annual event can be found on their facebook, twitter, and website.

The Snowdrop Foundation holds its annual Run Over Cancer 5K and 10K on Saturday, September 10, starting at the Texas Running Company at 7:30 am.
Runners and walkers alike can choose from entering the 5K or 10K races on a USATF certified course. Participants will have their times recorded by chip.

Two organizations have joined together in an effort to show their support in preventing child abuse. This month is Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Exchange Club of Sugar Land along with Friends of Child Advocates of Fort Bend are working together to inform their communities about ways they can help prevent child abuse.
Child Advocates of Fort Bend held their annual Light of Hope Ceremony on March 26th to jump start their Child Abuse Prevention month events. Whole Foods Market, Exchange Club of Sugar Land and Friends of Child Advocates of Fort Bend along with Cameron and Nicole Hill sponsored the event.

The Memorial Hermann Mischer Neuroscience Institute has been in the news frequently over the past few months, leaving some wondering what is the connection between Mischer Development Company and this world-class medical facility.
As part of their commitment to the community and their support of healthcare and research, in 2005, the Mischer Family invested in the neuroscience program at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
