Area disc golfers, get ready to throw with the big boys and girls!

The Professional Disc Golf Association hosts the Sugar Land Showdown on Saturday, January 28, at the Imperial Park Disc Golf Course.

This is a PDGA sanctioned C-Tier event held in association with Houston Birdshot, a local disc golf enthusiast organization.

The Sugar Land Showdown will consist of two rounds of 18 holes. Imperial Park normally features a nine-hole course, but an additional nine will be added for this event. Holes will vary in length and difficulty.

Check in goes from 7:00 am to 8:00 am the morning of the event. A players meeting will be held at 8:30 am and tee-off begins at 9:00 am.

Cash prizes will be awarded to category winners. Every participant will receive a free Discraft disc.

The cost of registration varies from $12 to $52, depending on your skill level and choice of divisions to compete in.

Many of the participants have competed in state, national, and worldwide disc golf championships, so this will be your opportunity to challenge the sport’s heavy hitters.

Spectators are welcome to cheer on participants.
