The annual Light of Hope Candle Lighting Event is set to take place on the steps of Sugar Land City Hall at Town Square on March 26, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. This event marks the effort to build child abuse awareness activities in the Fort Bend area for children who are neglected and/or abused each year.

This year, a number of speakers and testimonies will be featured, included Debbie Fancher, Christian recording artist and Sugar Land resident, who will sing with former Sugar Land mayor David Wallace accompanied by Allison Roorda.

Child Advocates of Fort Bend housed a Court Appointed Special Advocates™ (CASA™) program and a Children's Advocacy Center ("The Center"). The organization also continually fosters community outreach and awareness events, always maintaining their Core Values: - Child-focused - Community centered - Volunteer Driven - Compassionate - Collaborative - Influencing Change
